It's 102 degrees and there's a brush fire just north of where I live. As in: I live in a valley and there's a fire descending from the mountains above the valley. -__- What a fantastic way to end the summer, not to mention, the remaining summer assignments I haven't finished. siiiiiiiigh.

But I did get some nice views of the fire from my roof yesterday and up the street. Even if it is devastating acres of land, giant fires look quite magnificent from a distance. Especially at 2:00 am. This sounds terribly naive, but WOW MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH A NATURAL DISASTER OMG. Cars are speckeled in white ashes, all I hear are whirring helicopters and sirens and people have been evacuated some blocks up my street.

And school may not even open on Monday 8DDDDDDDDDDDDDD....DDDDDDDD. I cross my fingers that the fires will magically teleport and attack the school. Not the conventional "BURN IT TO THE GROUND KUKUKUKU" but just enough charring and smoldering for my own selfish desires >:]

That aside, this has been a really ordinary, lethargic summer. I did get to see my friends more than usual (but that was during summer school :/) and binged on my childhood cartoons.

Disney Movies: Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lion King 2 (I WAS CURIOUS).
Animez: Pokemon, Island of Giant Pokemon episode <3

Movies: Harry Potter, Ponyo (squeefully cute but with obvious flaws)

New Anime: Pandora Hearts. It's okay. I'm not loving it, but I'll follow it. The main character makes me scowl and the prolific amount of slasher smiles bothers me. But I don't mind slasher smiles when used well (like in Soul Eater).

I find that anime to me is more like an escape from work that I mindlessly, aimlessly rely on to intoxicate my mind after completing 0.001 % of homework.
