It ended at Chap. 23. So much potential smothered so early u_u
Double Arts by Komi Naoshi (also author/artist for a bunch of one-shots, but I didn't really enjoy any of those -_-) was cancelled and I mourn for its discontinuation.
Because I like lists/enumerations/bullet points more than paragraphs, Double Arts pwns because:
1) Natural characters (excluding Sui.) Characters in anime tend to be extreme (and then cliche): the cute, ditzy one, the smart, stoic one, the noble, heroic protagonist
Kiri and Elraine just strike me as original and amusing without being exaggerated and stretched into these categories. Wow, I think Elraine is one of the few anime girls I can stand.
2) A light-hearted, quirky sense of humor. This scene, a personal favorite: [link] , panels 1-4. I dunno about you, but this scene was beautiful to me (win for Fallan Denzle) But you should probably get acquainted with the entire manga to really get it.
Granted, it has typical shounen qualities like some of the most annoying, overused lines: "I must get stronger and fight!!" and "I'll fight for my friends!!" sort of stuff.
Double Arts: A girl who has to hold hands with a boy. Or else she dies.
It's not perfect, but I'm willing use my valuable procrastination time to read it.

Double Arts is one of my top favorite mangas. Gotta love the originality.
